Once upon a time, there was a hard-working small business owner who wanted to be independent, feel proud of their accomplishments, say adios to hourly wages, and stop wearing endless pairs of grey slacks to an office an hour away. (And that’s without rush hour.)
So, they did. Except there was just one tiny problem: Despite their skills, they still didn’t know how to get clients or make any money. Which, of course, meant they still weren’t independent, nor did they feel proud of their accomplishments, and actually couldn’t afford to buy any other pants, anyway. So they balked and they cried, but only when guests weren’t around, and in the meantime, felt completely overwhelmed and confused and started to doubt themselves and everything they ever dreamed of. (We know, that sentence ends in a preposition.)
Enter: The Mindful Marketing Academy.
That’s us, and we specialize in training three very specific groups of select people–coaches, healers & recovering MLM business owners–in the science of doing business the smart way. Specifically, we teach you how to really get the clients you need to make your business work–without resorting to any of the eye-rolling (and often ineffective) techniques you’ve probably read about in old-school sales books. Because there’s one little detail that translates into BIG importance that the majority of sales training books and programs never, ever tell you: And that little detail? Is the secret to our success. (Somewhere, surely a gong just sounded with joy.) Here at The Mindful Marketing Academy, we don’t rely on lofty, impractical advice or regurgitated marketing speak; rather, we’re experts in the science of human behavior. Because at the core of every transaction is a human. And at the core of every human? Is precisely what will change everything. …Once you understand how, that is.
KRAIG WARD – CEO I’m on a Mindful Marketing Mission.
My religion is to do good in this world. Plain and simple. My doctrine is to show people that there is a better, more effective way to go about trying to influence people to want to buy their stuff, and it doesn’t have to include greed or hype. It doesn’t have to include slapping people in the face with sleazy sales pitches or obnoxious offers or spamming their friends, family and strangers. It doesn’t have to include blanketing a huge undifferentiated group of people with a one-fits-all message in hopes that a tiny fraction will respond. Most people who do this do it by default –– and it’s no more fun for them than it is for those they are trying to influence or persuade.
Mindful Marketing done right makes selling easy and oftentimes completely unnecessary. It works regardless of your business or business model. Oh, and all that resistance you feel about approaching people for fear of being rejected? It’s simple to overcome once you understand how to truly be of service and make relevant offers to the right people at the right time, and you demonstrate very basic leadership skills. It’s this same understanding and these same skills that I leverage and teach on a daily basis both as head trainer of MMA and CEO of this enterprise. On a personal note, I’m a passionate rock climber, kiteboarder, skydiver, skateboarder, stilt walker, and in business with my WIFE (that’s the trickiest sport of them ALL, but I’ve gotten pretty damn good at it over the last 10+ years!). KRIS WARD – PRESIDENT You won’t find many people on the planet as obsessed with Lifestyle Design (AKA Freedom) and Lucrative Self-Realization as I am. I’m relentless.
The biggest role I play with my clients and on this team? I’m the desire clarifier; the nourisher; the freedom protector; the grounding force; the limiting belief crusher; the truth barometer. I help ensure that every action taken and every decision made is supportive of, and in alignment with, how we want to feel and who we are consciously becoming.
As YOU interact with me here, 100% of my focus will be on your deepest clarity and self-care and your most lucrative self-realization, i.e. empowering you to do what you love without burning out or selling out, and still have your work fund your lifestyle of choice.
Because why live half-asleep and by default, just reacting to life (often very fearfully), when we can be fully awake and expressed, right where we are… emotionally self-reliant, deeply connected and really contributing the very best of who we are to ourselves and to the world? And why not continually evolve ourselves and engineer all the ingredients of our lives on purpose and by design––including our freest career and schedule; where and how we live; our relationships; even how we want to FEEL most of the time? As for a sneak peak into personal me, I’m a part-time bootie-droppin’ hip hop dancer, interior designer, fashionista, yoga teacher, foodie and toddler mama. An eclectic and fun mixed bag! ANTHONY BOTTOLI – DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS I have an insatiable desire to help people get to the root of what’s holding them back in life and business so they can address it head-on in a kind, yet massively productive way that will change everything.
Believe me, I understand that it’s tough being an entrepreneur. We’ve all been promised from up on stage that with a little luck and hard work, we could achieve the American Dream: The opportunity for prosperity and success.
Then reality sets in –– and this business thing is a bit harder than we initially thought, eh? Well, when you get a coaching session with me you’ll get a big ‘ol dose of reality (in a GOOD way). I’ll pop that fantasy bubble in 2 seconds flat and in the same breath drive home exactly what it will take to become a leader that people will actually want to follow.
The silver lining is that you CAN build a business that you’ll be proud of – IF you truly have an insatiable passion for serving others (and acquire the leadership skills and mindful marketing strategies required for success). And if you’re game for that? Well, then I reckon I can help. In fact, I’d even be willing to dive into my bottomless well of creativity to help inspire your mission in a way that will WOW your ideal target audience –– and leave you grinnin’ like a mule in a briar patch.
Oh, and a few other things: I grew up on 57 acres in Minnesota (so I know a thing or two about mules and briar patches) + I love Yoga, building furniture, and I’m a big fan of metaphors and Bon Iver. Final word? I’m super passionate about imagining, refining, and delivering creative business solutions. For you. Send me a Message
DIANE MCCAIN – CONTROL CENTER CHIEF Mrs. Reliable: I do whatever it takes to keep MMA purring.
I like to brag that I’ve been here the longest (because I have)! From customer service to catching and reporting website glitches––all the gears and thousands of little moving parts––I’m the glue that holds it together; the one oiling the big machine that is this company.
The internal team here calls me Miss America. I’m still not sure why, and neither are they, really. What we DO know is that when you’re lost; I’ll help you get found. When you’re down and out, I’ll say just the right thing to put a smile on your face. I might even bring you a cup of virtual coffee when you need it most. Rest assured, whatever it is, I’ll be there when it counts.
Oh, and did I mention? I’m a former Police Lieutenant, a brilliant (and very proud) grandma, I run a horse boarding facility, and serve on my church board – in my “spare time.” Send me a Message
DYLAN ADDISON – DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS I’m the weird, fun, problem-solving engineer in the bunch who strategizes and automates all the techie stuff.
Nothing makes me happier than finding simple solutions to complex problems. Well, nothing except maybe designing and leveraging systems that handle what needs handling (technologically speaking) so that our time and energy can be freed up to do more important things –– like playing guitar, for instance.
I’m the backbone of MMA’s strategic initiatives, but don’t be fooled by my role’s apparent nerdiness. My freak flag flies high. I frequent Burning Man and have been admired by my teammates for wearing my snakeskin pants, long pink wig and cowboy hat while chauffeuring students around at our company’s live events. How else could I have successfully earned the nickname “cupcake”?!
To quiet my thoughts, I like to build domes, fantasize about global infrastructure projects like NAWAPA, ponder the cellular makeup of zebrafish, and other such oddities. I find this very stimulating.
BRITTNEY GEITGEY – COMMANDER OF COMMUNICATIONS If things are going to plan, you’ll hardly even know I’m here. It’s my job to make sure your experience is absolutely seamless.
When I’m not making sure that you’re fully informed, on track, and in the loop re: all important things related to being a part of the Mindful Marketing community; I’m combing through our back-end virtual systems, applying subtle improvements, scoping out glitches and keeping a keen eye out for messes left by, ahem –– virtual office gremlins.
In my off time, I’m a video gamin’, nature lovin’, goat tending student of life with a sharp eye for detail that’s rivaled only by my passion for laughter, kindness and (of course) cake.
What matters most is that I know how to take care of our members like nobody’s business.
ANDREA ARNOLD – BRANDING AND DESIGN MANAGER To me, design is more than a message. It’s a language.
I design to communicate, and for the RUSH that I get from breaking über complex ideas down to the simplest and most elegant form. Line, space, mood, and implied meaning all have to work together in harmony –– to speak to you.
I spend my days (and often nights) making big ideas and digital worlds play nice. This means constantly re-thinking, de-cluttering and visually organizing our sites in a way that aligns with you, meets your needs, and just feels good.
If you were to sneak into my office, you’d likely find me listening to a Joe Rogan podcast, feet soaking in a bubbler tub, all clocks covered, and multiple programs dancing while I design our latest ideas (or cursing code –– that’s very likely too). Stick around for awhile. I’ve got bigger, bolder, and more beautiful changes in the works coming for ya soon. Send me a Message
ALFIE FRIOLO – DIRECTOR OF WEB DEVELOPMENT I definitely have motivation and intense dedication going for me – so there’s no problem I can’t solve.
It used to be that the life of a programmer was no life at all. Staring at a computer screen 24/7: no social life, no arguments, no discussions, no one except you, your computer, and endless CODE.
Nowadays, with the existence of search engines, forums, support groups, video blogs and social media, life for a programmer is colorful and vibrant. I sift through the noise of the new and apply only the best of the latest-and-greatest to ensure our sites run effortlessly & exceed user expectations.
Life is cool, eh? And simple as long you know how to set your priorities, mindset and ambitions. I’m living a life where I’m truly content while diligently aiming for higher aspirations (without expectation)… and that makes me more than a very HAPPY man. When I’m not coding, you can find me playing video games, sports, and spending all my extra time with my girlfriend. Send me a Message
BRITTANY WILLIAMS – SOCIAL SUPPORT DARLING I consider social engagement an art form – one I’m on a mission to help perfect.
Vincent Van Goh said, “I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.” That fits me and my role here to a T. I’m here to meet your needs while making sure you know you’re wanted, cared for, and significant. I’m here to be your advocate — connecting with people is where I thrive.
I do have one rule, though, and I stick to it hard-core: no whining or hand-holding allowed. We’re only going to fight for you IF you’re going to fight alongside us. We’ve got more than enough love to go around, and tough love isn’t excluded from that equation.
Professional Socialite isn’t the only skill in my repertoire; I’m also a family-centered, feisty, Crossfitting wife and mother of two. I’m slightly obsessed with all things British, an avid fan of philosophical, religious, and political debate (and good at it), and a speed-reading book nerd who loves to laugh more than just about anything else. MISTY BARTON – CONTENT QUEEN I don’t want to be just one thing, and as content-manager, I don’t have to be. I’m an author, adventurer, teacher, friend – and your very own private detective.
There’s a reason they call me the content queen. I’ll get to the bottom of a breaking story in 2 seconds flat — and that’s exactly what I am doing for you. As a former teacher, I know how hard it is to make decisions and move forward if you don’t have all the information you need.
That’s why I love my role here (and I am very proud of that role). Because I know that you need the full-fledged, unbiased, no-holds-barred skinny on the companies you’re planning to partner with (or rep for). You can trust that I am hard at work updating our pages to make sure thats EXACTLY what you get. My extensive research and writing can really help you keep your finger on your niche’s pulse, and run your business in a truly mindful and well-informed way.
Unfortunately, staying behind the scenes and keeping up with the latest marketing news and technology really limits my face time and I CRAVE communication. So, please, drop by and leave a review or comment (I’d looooooove your feedback!) on any of our company pages, anytime.
When I finally step away from the computer, and stop writing awesome content for you — you can find me OUTDOORS. I am probably gardening, snuggling with some baby animal on our farm, hiding in a hammock with a historical romance novel, or juggling the needs of my children (like a ninja). Send me a Message
